FarmForward.ca is an online set of tools to assist you with business management on your farm.  You are an expert with your crops or livestock, but it is difficult to gain the skills to better manage your farm from a business perspective.  This site was developed to provide farmers with easy to use tools that make it easier for you to make sound financial, marketing, and planning decisions.  For crop producers we have developed four essential tools to help you analyze your cost of production, to help you develop and Marketing Step Selling Tool, we have also included a Cash Quote Tool, and a Historical Average Tool.  For Livestock producers there are tools for cost of production determination.  All of these have been developed specifically for Ontario farmers.  In developing these tools we have used actual historical marketing data in the database and current live forward pricing data (regionally and provincially).  Most of the tools allow you to run "What If" scenarios, such as What if my yield was greater? What if my costs were lower?  

This information will allow you to experiment with "what if" scenarios about your past marketing performance, so that hopefully, you will see the value in preparing a marketing plan and executing on those plans in the future.  The website is a valuable resource for anyone trying to improve their profit margins by working smarter, and by taking advantage of existing pricing information.
